Below you will find the classwork assignments along with a summary of what we did in class. If you are absent, you will refer to this page the day/night you are absent to get your assignments so that they will be completed upon your return.
Quarter 1
8/31 - The students completed the Welcome Assignment. This assignment is due on September 1st by 11:59 pm. This assignment must be uploaded to Microsoft Teams where the assignment originated from. The Welcome Assignment is located below.

9/1 - We went over the Virtual Contract and the students filled out a follow along copy. The contract is located below.

9/2 - The students read an article entitled "What is Sociology?" from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and then answered a 5 question mulitple choice reading check located on Microsoft Teams. We then went over it as a class and discussed what Sociology is. The Article is located below.

9/3 - The students viewed a powerpoint on Chapter 1 of Sociology. The powerpoint can be found on the powerpoints section of this website.
9/4 - The students finished viewing the powerpoint on Chapter 1. The students were to take notes on the powerpoint the past two days and they will be turned in to the assignment that has been created on Teams. The notes are due on Tuesday by 11:59 PM.
9/8 - The students read "The History of Sociology is rooted in Ancient Times" and answered a series of questions in a Microsoft Form on Teams. The article is located below.

9/9 - The students finished the assignment from the previous day. It is due tonight by 11:59 PM.
9/10 - The students began taking notes on an overview of chapter 4. The notes will be turned in by September 14 by 11:59 pm.
9/11 - The students continued to take notes on Chapter 4. The notes will be turned in by September 14 by 11:59 pm.
9/14 - The students touched up their notes from the previous powerpoint in order to get them ready to turn in by 11:59 tonight. Once they finished that the students completed the Dramaturgy Exercise on Microsoft Teams. The Dramaturgy Exercise is due on 9/15 by 8 am.
9/15 - The students completed the assignment entitled Functionalist on Microsoft Teams. The instructions are as follows. Download the assignment from this website (the word document is located below). Then open a blank word document to type the answers to the questions or prompts. Then upload the assignment to Microsoft Teams where the assignment is located.

9/16 - The students went over the questions from the previous day and made sure it was turned in by the due date: 9/16 at 8:00 am.

9/28 - The students completed a Microsoft Form on Teams entitled Adult Decisions. It is a questionaire that gets them to think about decisions they will be making in the coming years as they change into young adults.
9/29 - Today was a make up work day.
9/30 - The students took notes on the beginning of Chapter 7. The Chapter 7 powerpoint is located in the powerpoint section of this website. The notes are due by 3:00 pm today.
10/1 - The students looked at crime statistics using a powerpoint that is located in the powerpoint section for Sociology on this website. They answered a series of questions in a Microsoft Form located on the Assignment page on Microsoft Teams. The Assignment is due by 4:00 pm today.
10/2 - The students answered a Violent Crime questionnaire which is located below as well as on the assignment that was uploaded to Teams. You must answer the questions and upload them to the assignment on Teams by 8:00 am tomorrow 10/3.

10/6 - The students continued to work on the essay from the previous day. It is due at 11:59 pm on Wednesday 10/7.
10/7 - The students continued to work on the essay from Monday. It is due today at 11:59 pm.
10/8 - The students created as study guide for the test and turned it into the assignment created on teams. The test opens up today at 5:00 pm and closes tomorrow evening, 10/9.
10/9 - The students completed the Unit 2 test by this evening.
10/19 - The students took notes on Chapter 11, The Family. The powerpoint is located in the Powerpoints for Sociology section of this website.
10/20 - The students responded to the Divorce Reflection assignment in Microsoft Teams. The attached document within the assignment is also located below.
